Charging Point Operators

Charging Point Operators are responsible for installing and maintaining electric vehicle charging stations on the Mobi.E network.
Each charging station must display:

Operators are required to hold a license in accordance with Articles 14 and 15 of Decree-Law 39/2010.

Do you want to become an Operator?

Apply for a Charging Point Operator license from the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology.

Submit the completed and digitally signed* Mobi.E Network Membership Agreement. Attach the Permanent Certificate or or the corresponding access code. If the Agreement is signed by a proxy, the power of attorney signed by someone authorised to bind the entity must also be submitted.

* If the documentation is signed by hand, two original copies of the documents must be sent in physical format by post, together with the Permanent Certificate.

Services provided by Mobi.E as part of its regulated activity

Mobi.E’s regulated responsibilities include:

  • Administrative tasks such as onboarding market participants into the Mobi.E network.
  • Providing the technological platform that links Operators’ charging stations, ensuring universal access.

Mobi.E also:

  • Manages data communications to share information among Electric Mobility Suppliers (EMSPs), Operators, and other electricity sector stakeholders.
  • Oversees guarantee systems for EMSPs, Operators, and Charging Point Owners (DPCs).
  • Provides electric vehicle users with tariff information and real-time network status.
  • Supplies relevant market data to ERSE and other public authorities.

 

Electric Mobility Management Entity tariff (EGME)
To cover the costs of EGME’s regulated activities, the EGME fee is applied annually to Electric Mobility Suppliers, Charging Point Operators and Charging Point Owners. This fee is set each year by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE). Find out more here.

Free 24-Hour Telephone Support

Charging Point Operators must provide a toll-free, 24-hour telephone support line for users to report any issues encountered during charging.
